Local farmers have long struggled to gain access to the profitable international natural produce market despite much of their crops being naturally organic. A major barrier has been the absence of regionally qualified natural certifiers. Currently, international certifiers are obtainable in from international locations like Australia, making the method both expensive and logistically difficult for PNG agribusinesses.
